Specialised Assessments
NK Clinical Psychology have extensive experience in conducting psychological assessments. We use a range of clinical tools to understand and assess the presenting difficulties and problems in children and adolescents.Assessments may be helpful if the following are problems for the child or adolescent:
- Developmental delays or concerns.
- Academic, learning or school-related problems.
- Difficulty concentrating or paying attention.
- Displaying challenging or defiant behaviour at home or school.
- Struggling to regulate their emotions.
- Having social or peer related problems.
Assessments available include:
- IQ/Cognitive testing
- Academic/Achievement testing for learning difficulties/disabilities
- Behavioural and Emotional issues.
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
The assessment occurs in different stages: These include a preparation stage which involves parent/gaurdian sessions to gather background information and school contact (if relevant).
1-2 sessions with the child/adolescent and or parent/guardian to administer the assessment/s required.
Analysing & scoring the data, results, and information into a detailed and comprehensive report by the clinical psychologist.
Feedback session with the parent/guardian to discuss the report. Copies of the report can be provided to schools, other professionals or services or doctors if requested and consent is provided.
