Assessments

Specialised Assessments

NK Clinical Psychology have extensive experience in conducting psychological assessments. We use a range of clinical tools to understand and assess the presenting difficulties and problems in children and adolescents.

Assessments may be helpful if the following are problems for the child or adolescent:

  • Developmental delays or concerns.
  • Academic, learning or school-related problems.
  • Difficulty concentrating or paying attention.
  • Displaying challenging or defiant behaviour at home or school.
  • Struggling to regulate their emotions.
  • Having social or peer related problems.

Assessments available include:

  • IQ/Cognitive testing
  • Academic/Achievement testing for learning difficulties/disabilities
  • Behavioural and Emotional issues.
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder

The assessment occurs in different stages: These include a preparation stage which involves parent/gaurdian sessions to gather background information and school contact (if relevant).
1-2 sessions with the child/adolescent and or parent/guardian to administer the assessment/s required.

Analysing & scoring the data, results, and information into a detailed and comprehensive report by the clinical psychologist.

Feedback session with the parent/guardian to discuss the report. Copies of the report can be provided to schools, other professionals or services or doctors if requested and consent is provided.
